‘Art is not about making the audiences bigger – although if they could get a little bigger that would help a lot, as I’ve got bills to pay, thanks’
‘I’m the lead singer of the bands Art Brut, Spoiler Alert!, Eddie Argos and the Lo Fi Punk Rock Motherfuckers and an all male tribute band to The Donnas called The Donalds. All of those bands should be releasing records next year – Art Brut are just finishing the writing on our fifth album.
As well as being in lots of bands, I also paint. I just had an exhibition of my work at Staatsgalerie Prenzlauer Berg, and in the new year have another exhibition at SXSW in Austin for the Show On The Road, which is a mobile art gallery – described as a ‘visual food truck’ on their website.
You can hear me on FluxFm every Tuesday night from 10pm hosting Off The Record Berlin’s only English Language show with my Co-Host Charlie Layton from the Wedding Present.’
GERALD M. PASQUALIN
Originally from Venezuela.
Current residence: Berlin, Prenzlauer Berg & Neukölln.
Drummer & percussionist.
‘I believe that if life gives you lemons, you should make lemonade… And try to find somebody whose life has given them vodka, and have a party’
‘I like to be involved in multiple musical directions and one who strives for a high quality standard and sincerity in his work. My exciting energy has led me towards several musical directions and projects. Particularly a cutting edge, My vision as an artist shows extreme wariness of what is in vogue currently. That being said, the main purpose is to share a very unique musical spectrum with the world of music.’
Originally from Israel.
Current residence: Berlin, Kreuzberg.
Rockabilly singer, songwriter and guitarist. Guitar picking man.
‘Make no friendship with an elephant-keeper if you have no room to entertain an elephant’
‘Hi wow boys and girls, i’m Charlie Megira but it’s not my real name. I was born Gabriel Abudraham and and raised in the Bet Shea’n Valley, Israel in the year 1972. I moved to Berlin on the 1.11.12 and live in Kreuzberg. I play the electric guitar and sing, rockabilly, an early form of rock and roll, one can also say that it’s a form of art that deals with the local in an exotic manner. So if you are into some serious entertainment make sure to catch me play in town.’
